Yarm Commemoration Group ________________

The 1914 - 1918 war, often called the Great war was thought to be the war to end all wars. How wrong that turned out to be. Nearly 1 million British soldiers lost their lives and over 2 million were injured. Yarm Commemorative Group has been established to research those from Yarm who gave their lives in WW1, the effect on the families living in Yarm and to bring this research to the current generations living in Yarm. This will be achieved through providing research material to primary and secondary schools and providing activities for all the family throughout the period 2014 to 2018. This will not be a time for celebration but a time for commemoration.
